About

Jackson O’Neill is an Aerospace Engineering major, with a minor in Engineering Corporate Practice at the University of Notre Dame, with an expected graduation in 2026. He hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but calls St. Edward’s Hall home on campus.

At Notre Dame, Jackson is involved in numerous academic and extracurricular activities, serving as a Teaching Assistant in the Engineering Innovation Hub, helping students design and manufacture their projects, and a member of St. Ed’s intramural soccer team. He is also involved with on-campus undergraduate research in the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department.

His research on campus primarily deals with calibrating and understanding additional gas injections into a supersonic flow. Last summer, he interned with the Test Engineering department at Woodward Inc.

Previously as the CubeSat Mission Manager, Jackson had the opportunity to lead over 80 undergraduate students in mission design, technology development, and integrated testing for a proposed CubeSat mission.

As President of IrishSat, Jackson oversees the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the club. He coordinates the work of all subsystem teams to ensure projects move forward efficiently and in alignment with mission goals. Jackson also serves as the primary liaison between IrishSat, university leadership, and external partners, guiding the organization’s long-term vision.
