John Tuma is a senior Aerospace Engineering major from Cleveland, Ohio, set to graduate in 2025. He lived in Keenan Hall and now resides off-campus.

In addition to his studies, John has been involved in the Notre Dame Rocketry Team and served as the Manufacturing Technical Lead for IrishSat. He gained valuable work experience as a Rolls-Royce Summer Engineering Intern at the Notre Dame Turbomachinery Laboratory in 2023.

John’s favorite IrishSat memory was presenting last year’s projects at the annual banquet we host. They had successfully constructed more projects than any year prior, and after so many weeks of testing, failures, successes, and late nights that turned into early mornings, it was incredibly satisfying to show members of industry, professors, and interested students everything had been accomplished. John believes IrishSat not only shapes you to be a better engineer, but also places you in an environment where you are surrounded by so many great, hardworking people who are passionate about learning, solving problems, and ultimately have a love for space!
