Communications – Technical Lead
About
Isaac is studying Electrical Engineering with a minor in Engineering Corporate Practice and plans to graduate from the University of Notre Dame in 2025.
On campus, he is also the Director of Community Outreach for the Engineering Leadership Council, an Undergraduate Research Assistant who works with Phased Array Fed Lens (PAFL) Antenna Technology for space and communications applications, an IEEE Eta Kappa Nu Inductee and member, a tutor at the Notre Dame Center for Civic Innovation (NDCCI), a Club Futsal athlete, and a RecSport facilities employee.
Outside of Notre Dame, Isaac has worked on gaining more work experience through internships. In the summer of 2023, he went to Natick, Massachusetts outside of Boston to work at MathWorks to develop new Test and Measurement capabilities in the Instrument Control Toolbox. During this experience, he developed code which is part of the current version of MATLAB which is used by millions of users. For the summer of 2024, Isaac plans on participating in an internship at United Launch Alliance (ULA) in Denver, Colorado working on their newest rocket, Vulcan, to upgrade its avionics/electrical systems.
Isaac is originally from Medina, OH and now lives in Carroll Hall. His favorite IrishSat memory is presenting to space companies about the work IrishSat does and hearing about the work happening in the commercial space industry. It was this memory which marks the moment he knew he had found his life passion for space.
Isaac’s favorite exec is Sarah Kopfer- who he believes to be the coolest/smartest person he has ever met.
